	Accommodation

'The Farmhouse' and 'The Cottage'

Gradbach is able to offer a choice of indoor accommodation suitable for most group sizes and catering for a variety of needs.

The farmhouse is perfect for larger groups with troop bunk rooms and separate leader's rooms with plenty of space for communal dining, cooking, indoor games and relaxing in front of an open fire.

The Farmhouse is fully equipped with separate washrooms which feature low level WCs, pedestals and showers for discreet male and female use.

The Farmhouse has considerable character and has played host to innumerable holidays, camps, courses and other outdoor pursuits in the beautiful Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire countryside over the years.

The Cottage provides a perfect base for smaller parties with two separate bunk rooms and its own washroom facilities and kitchen. The building also features a large dining/living area with an open fireplace as its centrepiece.

The Farmhouse

Ground Floor

Leaders Room

This room is benched on three sides with on open fire, ideal for leaders to relax in, or can be used as a small activity room.

Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a large six ring gas cooker, fridge freezer, toaster, electric kettles, griddle hot plate, microwave cooker, separate hand and utensil washing facilities, and ample food preparation and storage space. There is also an extractor fan and electric insect killer which are recommended to be used when the kitchen is in operation. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking and eating utensils. The hot water is on tap and gas is supplied from a main storage tank. The gas is inclusive in the hire cost of the building.

Washrooms

There are two separate washrooms to allow groups to split male and female users if required. Each washroom is equipped with 2 toilets, 2 wash basins, 2 shower units, shaving points, mirrors and an automatic extractor fan. Toilet rolls and cleaning fluids are inclusive in the hire cost of the building and can be obtained from Camp Staff if you run out.

Dining Room

The dining room is supplied with tables and chairs for seating up to 30 persons at a sitting.

First Floor

Bunk Rooms

There are bunk rooms at either end of the building, one with the capacity to sleep up to 15 persons, the other up to 20 persons. Mattresses are provided, but occupants should bring their own bedding.

Leaders Bunk Room

This room will sleep 8 persons and is fitted with single bunk accommodation. Mattresses are provided, but occupants should bring their own bedding.

Activity Room / Dormitory

A 17’ square room with a benched surround and open fire. This provides an ideal space for group activity, relaxation, or additional floor sleeping accommodation should you require it.

Other Information

Throughout the building are electric storage heaters, regulated on a fixed timer system, to allow a ‘warming through’ of the building during your stay.

A key for locking the building, if you go out on activities, will be supplied on arrival of your stay.

Coal, lighting, gas and purified drinking water on tap are inclusive in the cost of hiring the building.

The coal is stored in a covered lean to on the right of the building, as is a barrel for the deposit of waste ash.

The gas supply comes from a central tank.

Waste rubbish should be bagged and deposited in the green waste bins located at the main entrance to the site.

Drying Room - Developed with funding kindly donated from the 4 Inns Walk Committee and opened in Spring 2009, we can now offer a small drying room facility for campers and building accommodation customers alike. Situated at the end of the Camp HQ building, the drying room offers the facility for drying wet clothing and boots (not that it ever rains at Gradbach!).

The Cottage

Ground Floor

Dining / Activity Room

24‘ x 12’ parquet blocked floor room, benched on three sides with an open fire. Six large collapsible tables and additional seating is provided for both dining use and indoor activities.

Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a large six ring gas burner cooker, cooking and eating utensils for up to 25 persons, fridge freezer, microwave cooker, utensil and hand washing area, storage and preparation surfaces.
There is hot water supplied by the way of an immersion heater.

First Floor

Bunk Rooms

The bunk rooms are situated at either end of the building and can be accessed by the staircase close. The bunk room above the kitchen sleeps 8 persons and the other up to 12 persons. For additional sleeping the cushioned seating in the activity room can double up as beds.
Mattresses are provided in the bunk rooms, but visitors should bring their own bedding.

Washroom

The washroom is located between the two bunkrooms and includes 2 toilets and 4 washbasins (with hot water), shaver points and mirrors. There is also a separate toilet and wash basin ideal for split accommodation use. Toilet rolls and cleaning fluids are included in the hire costs and can be supplied by Camp Staff if you run out.

Additional Information

A key for locking the building, if you are going out on activities, will be supplied on your arrival.

Inclusive of the hire cost of the Cottage are coal, lighting, gas and purified water which can be drunk straight from the tap.

The coal is located to the left of the front of the building, as is a bin for ash from the fire.

Waste and rubbish should be bagged and deposited in the two green bins which are located at the end of the lane by the entrance to the camp site.
